Italian government scholarships for foreign students
The Italian government grants scholarships to study in Italy to foreign citizens. These scholarships are offered in the following category:
Master’s degree, higher education courses in arts and music, doctoral program, research under academic supervision (Progetti in co-tutela), and Italian language and culture courses.
The scholarship includes tuition fees, health insurance, and monthly allowance. Moreover, these scholarships are over a period of three, six or nine months only.
The “Invest your Talent in Italy” program
Another government grant program in Italy, “Invest your Talent in Italy” provides every year scholarships for students who want to get a Master’s or pursue postgraduate studies in English in the country. The scholarships are for students from Azerbaijan, Colombia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Turkey, Tunisia, and Vietnam.
Moreover, the study subjects include: Advanced technologies, Architecture, Design, Economics and Management, as well as Engineering at major Italian universities. The grant is supported by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Ministry of Economic Development.
The best students who are accepted will study tuition-free and will receive a monthly 900 euros allowance for 9 months of study. The requirements for the scholarship is to complete a bachelor’s degree outside of Italy, and with a minimum of 30 credits. Since the study programs are in English, documents to provide include a proof of proficiency in the English language at a B2 level at least.

Similarly, here are some types of scholarships by Italian universities to international students:
EDISU Piemonte Scholarships
EDISU Scholarship in Italy is for International students in the following grades:
- Full-time Bachelor’s degree.
- Master’s degree, or master’s degree in one course.
- Doctorate degree courses at a Piedmont university (Politecnico in Turin, University of Turin, University of East Piedmont).
If you are one part of the above – you can apply for EDISU scholarships if you meet the financial merit and requirements of the competition.
Part-time students can also apply for this scholarship if they enroll for a Bachelor’s degree to study a Bachelor’s degree in Italy. The scholarship amount varies on many conditions, and the accommodation service has an offer to non-resident students as well.

University of Bologna Scholarships for international students
The University of Bologna offers scholarships to eligible foreign students for the following courses:

- Master’s degree
- Or individual course programs at the University of Bologna.

Pavia International University scholarships for developing country students
In order to enhance international cooperation with developing countries, the University of Pavia (UNIPV) offers scholarships for outstanding students from developing countries to study for a Master’s degree program taught in English at the university.
The value of each scholarship is about 8000 euros. There are also CICOPS scholarships to academics and other researchers from developing countries to conduct research in cooperation with a professor at the University of Pavia.

The scholarship is worth €8,000 and is intended to cover one academic year. Each scholarship will also cover the expenses for the travel to Italy and back (economy class). Additionally, tuition fees will also be waived.
Politecnico de Milan University Scholarships
Similarly, every year, Politecnico di Milano offers merit-based scholarships to talented international candidates admitted to the Master of Science program.
Also, students receiving this scholarship will have to pay an administrative fee of approximately 160 euros.
