New admission laws in Swedish Universities
The admission to Swedish universities depends on specific qualifications. If the presented requests are greater than the required, universities choose only the required students from among those qualified ones.
Besides, a new law was enacted in the fall of 2010 related to the so-called (accrual points). They are additional discriminatory points that applicants obtain if they complete advanced secondary school courses in their country. For example, the advanced courses may be in mathematics or in a foreign language.

- Deadline for reception of supporting documentation, also in February

For the second round of admission, in spring, keep record of these important dates:

Late admission application
Some universities have courses and programs where students may apply past the deadline. Nonetheless, a course that is open for late application does not necessarily mean that there are available places. Also, this system does not give you enough time to apply for a scholarship, so it is better not to rely on these late deadlines for your application.
Moreover, the first admission round (autumn) is specifically for international students. This is usually the intake for the programs and courses in English. Also, it gives more time to better plan your leave for Sweden since admission decisions are given earlier than in the spring intake.
Notes:
- After you complete filling out your application, it will be passed through several cycles. Also, you have to wait for a short time till the university notifies you with the acceptance letter. (you shall need to read the top 10 Swedish universities and links to their official websites).
- The university sends an acceptance letter and communicates with you in case your application meets the entry requirements. In return, the university asks you to send a confirmation letter to agree on this application. Once you receive the acceptance letter from the university, you must immediately start the application procedures for visa application and residence in Sweden.
