Mexican Government Scholarship Program
On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) offers a fully-funded Mexican government scholarship program in 2020 for international students who want to study a specialization, master’s degree, doctorate, conducting graduate-level or post-doctoral research.

Research Scholarship Requirements
- Copy of the academic certificate as proof of receiving a Master’s or PhD program or to be enrolled in one of the two programs.
- Candidates must have a valid immigration documents with a temporary residence visas.
- In case the applicant is not a Spanish native speaker, he must submit a Certificate of advanced level of proficiency in Spanish from one of the language universities or centers.
- Copy of birth certificate as well as a copy of the passport.
- Health certificate issued by Public or private institution with a maximum of 3 months prior to submission of the application. Indicating that the applicant enjoys good health.
- Recent original photograph (not digital prints) clearly viewing the face with white background 3 cm *3 cm. In addition to, your name and nationality on the back.
What is the scholarship from the government of Mexico worth?
International students who benefit from one of the Mexican government scholarships will get full tuition coverage. Also, they receive a monthly stipend worth around $590 for undergraduate and master’s level studies. PhD and postdoctoral scholarships come with a stipend of $740. This is the same amount for medical specialties and subspecialties.
Other benefits include student accommodation and health insurance coverage from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), starting from the third month of the scholarship. Duration of the government scholarship in Mexico
The scholarships last up to 24 months for the undergraduate and master’s degree studies. If you get a PhD scholarship from the government of Mexico, the duration is for 36 months maximum. Stay’s duration for the master’s and postdoctoral researches is 12 months.
Moreover, medical specialties and subspecialties scholarships cover studies for 36 months. While high medical specialty courses are covered for only 12 months maximum.
Registration Process
