Do I need a visa to study in Denmark?

International students who stay in Denmark to study need a residence permit, rather than a “student visa”, strictly speaking. This is a mandatory document for non-EU/EEA and Switzerland citizens who plan to remain in the country for more than 3 months. Students from the EU/EEA region and Switzerland, on the other hand, need to apply for an EU residence document, and not a residence permit/student visa.

  1. That you have been accepted into a study program at one of Denmark’s universities.

You are required to fill in an application form to get a student visa. Make sure to fill in all the information correctly and accurately. Additionally, make sure that all the documents you have sent to the Danish immigration office are correct.

Firstly, a Danish education representative will fill in the second half of the application form, attach the required documents and send them to you. After that, you will complete the first section of the application and attach the required documents.
